Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective (also known as Ace Ventura Jr. and Ace Ventura 3) is the second sequel to the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. As it appears currently, Jim Carrey will not be appearing in the film. Production started in Orlando, Florida, on September 17, 2007. The film will be directed by David M. Evans and follows a script written by Jeff Sank, Jason Heimberg, and Justin Heimberg

The film was originally supposed to be released to theaters in September 2008, but this release was canceled.[citation needed] It is now scheduled to be released directly to DVD on March 3rd, 2009 by Warner Home Video.
