What do you get the boy who has everything—including excellent taste in dinner companions?

If you're Zac Efron's mom, you give him the gift of safe sex for Christmas.

The 21-year-old High School Musical star and expert ball-handler tells Elle magazine in its April issue that his mother gave him a most unusual present this past Yuletide: condoms.

After Ma Efron saw pictures of her boy and his gal, 20-year-old Vanessa Hudgens, shopping in what appeared to be an adult-toy store, she sat Zac down for a perhaps long-overdue talk.

"My mom is like, Zac, what did you buy in a sex shop?'" Efron recalls. "I was like, 'Mom, calm down, it's not a sex shop.'"

But Mother Efron and her maternal instinct weren't having any of it. "She's like, 'I knew you were being sexual!' But she understood," Zac offers.

Perhaps she was too understanding, Efron explains. "My stocking was full of condoms this Christmas," he admits. "She buys me the economy box."
