For a scene in the upcoming film 3 IDIOTS where Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi are shown drunk at the college adda where they meet to chill out, perfectionist Aamir Khan suggested that the trio should actually get drunk to make it look more authentic.

The scene was being shot at night. But after getting drunk the cast started enjoying themselves and were really in their element. Director Rajkumar Hirani was happy with the way actors were giving their takes and wanted to shoot various options to choose the best. After taking few retakes, the unit realized that they have run out of reel in the middle of night. When Raju Hirani got to know about it, he was worried because he didn't want this shoot to extend for another day and didn't want the cast to get drunk again.

The production team went all out hunting for the reel to check if any other film was being shot in the vicinity and if they could borrow some reels from them. Fortunately, there was a regional film being shot and the director of the film was more than happy to help Rajkumar Hirani with reels. Finally the team managed to get a reel to wrap up the shoot.
