Nominees for this year's Academy Awards descended on the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, for the Academy Awards nominee luncheon today. Mega-watt talent like Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johannson, Penelope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei and Mickey Rourke were on hand.

Rebecca Romijn was spotted in Woodland Hills, California, looking slim and trim in some snug workout gear.

It's frankly amazing that the Ugly Betty star just had twins in late December.

Romijn's twin flower daughters with husband Jerry O'Connell—Dolly Rebecca Rose O'Connell and Charlie Tamara Tulip O'Connell—were born on December 28.

The twins' arrival didn't interfere with Romijin and husband's social schedule, either; the couple attended the wedding of Fergie and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen actor Josh Duhamel on January 10.

How did Romijn manage to snap back into shape so quickly after giving birth to not one, but two, children?

A rep for the actress declined to comment when contacted by CELEBUZZ, but maybe it's something in the water in Hollywood. Female show-bizers display a remarkable ability to slim back into shape after giving birth. Just as Jessica Alba. Or Salma Hayek.

The 61st annual Directors Guild of America Awards were held Saturday night in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and Slumdog Millionaire came out on top in the cinema category.

Danny Boyle's romance flick—which is set against the backdrop of an all-or-nothing Indian game show—won him Best Director at the DGAs, beating out the auteurs behind Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Dark Knight.

Most of whom Boyle will face at the Oscars on February 22 in the Best Director category. Slumdog is nominated in ten categories.

Yahoo! reports that there have only been six times in Oscar history since 1948 when the DGA winner for Best Director hasn't gone on to Oscar gold. However, three of those instances have occurred since 1995. Keep your fingers crossed, Dan.

Of course, even if Slumdog should fail to win big at the Oscars, Boyle and company have already done pretty well for themselves. The film has won several awards, including four Golden Globes, five Critics' Circle Awards, and a National Board of Review award.

"Both Sean Preston [3] and Jayden James [2] will, in fact, be joining Britney throughout the duration of her tour," the site reads.

The boys will sweep North American with mom while she puts up an act that's "sexy, fun, explosive, and full of surprises," with stops in Canada and across the pond to the UK.

The news must come as a relief to Britney fans the world over, as this morning a firestorm hit blogs with speculation that the 26-year-old would yank the entire tour if ex-husband Kevin Federline refused to let the children travel with her.

Reps for 30-year-old Federline declined to comment on his support of the three-month trek, while his attorney Mark Kaplan was unavailable to respond.

Currently, he retains custody of both boys with equal visitation for both parents.

While devotees will get Britney in all her motherly glory, sadly the singer's Slave 4 U Days a close—don't expect any giant snakes this time out.

Sorry, Vanessa Hudgens fans; the 20-year-old High School Musical actress most likely won't be sinking her teeth into the Twilight sequel, New Moon.

Despite earlier reports that Hudgens had auditioned for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater, the screenwriter for both flicks says that it's extremely unlikely.

"I'm not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah," screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told People magazine at Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. "But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn't happen until the third movie."

On the plus side, this frees up Hudgie Bear to pursue other film projects that might be of interest to the public.

Rosenberg further revealed that Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the Twilight-ers are already in Canada preparing for the New Moon shoot, which is due to begin next month.

"I can tell you the original cast will all be coming back," Rosenberg says. "They're on set right now, in Vancouver! They're all up there prepping the movie to start shooting very soon."

Increasingly, it seems, the camera just isn't Miley Cyrus' friend.

Pictures have surfaced on the Internet apparently depicting the 16-year-old 'Hannah Montana' star and her underwear-model boyfriend Justin Gaston stretching their eyelids into slits as they appear to be joking around with friends.

While we can't speak to Miley and Justin's intentions in this photo—if in fact the picture is authentic—the person who posted the pic on Live Journal seems to think there's a derogatory connotation to the pose, judging from the headline's post, "Miley be making fun of the AZN!"

Karen Narasaki, president of the director for the Asian American Justice Center, would seem to agree.

"It's hard to imagine the context where this would be okay," Narasaki tells CELEBUZZ. "It's offensive and disappointing. She' such a role model for young women."

Miley's reps have so far been unavailable for comment on the photo.

This isn't the first time that potentially embarrassing photos have threatened to tarnish the tweener queen's sqeaky-clean image. There was, of course, the topless Vanity Fair photo. And the inappropriately sexy, belly-baring pic of Miley that found its way onto the Web last year.

Heidi Klum and Seal have been married for nearly four years (the pair wed on May 10, 2005), but their affection for each other obviously hasn't dimmed any.

The 45-year-old singer and his girlfriend, Victoria's Secret model and Project Runway hostess (for now, anyway) Heidi Klum, hit a park in West Hollywood with their kids—Henry Gunther, 3, Johan Riley, 2, and Leni, 4 (from Klum's previous relationship with Formula One driver Flavio Briatore)—on Saturday.

As the tots frolicked in the fresh air and sunshine, Seal and Klum, 35, got a little frisky themselves, indulging in a light make-out session while the little ones' attention was diverted.

It turns out the gamble the Hills ex-patriot took in moving over to the right coast, bouncing from sunny Los Angeles to the uptown/downtown world of New York City, has paid off big.

MTV has renewed the glossy reality show for a second season.

This means more brooding and jamming from Port's Aussie beau Jay Lyon, as well as more bitchery and blazing fashion from Olivia Palermo. But how does the star herself feel?

"Honestly, I still can't believe that all of this is happening to me," she blogs, "first of all that I was given my own show, second that people are even watching and enjoying it, and third that it got picked up for a second season!"

While she's enthusiastic about The City's renewal, the future is as unpredictable for the 23-year-old as it is for her viewers and fans.

"Who knows how this next season is going to unfold, or where my career, my friendships, and my relationship with Jay will go," she said.

Port goes on to say she's just excited for the ride and, naturally, we should continue to catch her on Monday's at 10 p.m. on MTV.

Out of all the expectations weighing on actresses these days, Emma Watson, star of the Harry Potter series, hates the pressure to sex it up.

"I find this whole thing about being 18 and everyone expecting me to be this object," Watson tells the UK's Daily Mail Live magazine. "I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing."

While Watson may feel that way, she certainly seemed in full control of her wiles at the end of last summer. Shots of the actress frolicking in a bikini with financier Jay Barrymore surfaced last August, thanks to a Facebook hack of Anna Wintour's daughter Bee Shaffer.

"I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt, but that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable...It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image," Watson said.

The image in question is the bookish—and increasingly babe-ish—Hermoine Granger, a trusted sidekick to Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter. In keeping with her character's affinity for knowledge, Watson herself said she wants to continue her education, blockbuster movies or not.

Being the child of two A-list stars has its advantages.

Perhaps celebrating her recent child-custody victory, Madonna hit up the Macelleria restaurant in New York's meatpacking district yesterday with her reported new love interest, Brazilian model Jesus Luz.

He is not one of those big stars or star sons who love to keep unit waiting just to show their starry tantrums. Ranbir’s punctuality has been appreciated during the shoot of Santoshi’s new film. Ranbir Kapoor is not just a talented and handsome young actor from the new lot but also a very professional actor. After Milind Deora’s society wedding, Shahrukh and Salman Khan have made it a point to studiously avoid events where they might bump into each other. Both Khans were invited to Preity Zinta’s home for her birthday party on Saturday night. However Salman didn’t turn up for PZ’s party. Shahrukh reached the party early and on hearing about this, he decided not to go.The official excuse was that he was shooting but he wanted to avoid any unpleasantness by coming face-to-face with Shahrukh. A source present at the party says, “Preity had invited Salman since they are good friends but he told Preity that he was shooting in Panvel for Main Aur Mrs Khanna and that he wouldn’t be able to make it.”

The source says, “At Milind Deora’s reception, where both SRK and Sallu were present, it was easy to avoid each other as it was a big affair but Preity’s bash was a intimate gathering of about 20 close friends and it would have been impossible to avoid eye contact. Salman didn’t want an awkward situation again and opted out.”Also present at Preity’s party were Akshay and Twinkle Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia, Amrita Arora and her fiancEe Shakeel Ladhak, Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh and Farhan Akhtar.

Dino Morea (in one of those rare instances) came sans girlfriend Lara Dutta and was seen chatting merrily with ex-girlfriend Nandita Mahtani. This after Lara had walked out in a huff when Nandita had sat on Dino’s lap and flirted with him at a party at Shahrukh Khan’s place.Akshay Kumar who dropped in with biwi Twinkle made a quick exit after wishing Preity as he had to catch an early morning flight to Delhi.

Shahrukh and Akshay didn’t chat with each other at all as they normally do.

After Aap Kaa Surroor, Mallika Sherawat has firmly refused another film with the singer-composed turned actor that came her way. According to Mallika, a humiliated Himesh has been planting stories about her being thrown out of the film since. A source close to Sherawat says, “When Kundan Shah’s film Masquerade produced by TV18 got shelved, the producers approached Mallika with another film called Ishq Unplugged, a romantic comedy, directed by Swapna Joshi, starring Himesh Reshammiya.

Though Himesh isn’t too fond of the actress, he felt her sex appeal would draw in the audiences. He recommended Mallika’s name to the producers but she didn’t agree. She quoted a sky-high price. TV18 had to say no.” Mallika’s friend adds that her refusal made Himesh furious. “Since then, Himesh has been telling people that TV18 threw her out of the film. But what was TV18 offering her? A weak script, an unknown director and a completely unbankable actor!

Himesh’s last film Karzzzz was a super dud at the B-O. Don’t they know that in B-Town quoting a high price is a polite way of telling the producer that the actor is not interested? Naturally, Mallika didn’t want to do Ishq Unplugged.No established actress wants to work with Himesh today that’s why he’s doing films only with newcomers! And Mallika doesn’t want to take that kind of risk in her career as of now. Money was one of the reasons for opting out, but it wasn’t the only one.”

However, Himesh says, “Mallika’s issue was with Studio 18 and not with me. Anyways it’s good she not doing Ishq Unplugged. We wanted a simple, de-glam girl and Mallika didn’t suit the role. Apart from being too old for the role, Mallika’s image is hot and sexy!”

Though we don’t see Irrfan Khan romancing actresses on-screen, offscreen he has often been seen cozy and intimate with different women. Our source, who was present at the suburban five-star hotel where Irrfan was seen cozying up with a lady two days ago, said, “I was shocked to see Irrfan Khan getting up close and personal up with a firang at the hotel. It was clear from their body language that Irrfan and the lady were more than just friends. The two also left the hotel together. The PDA (public display of affection) was somewhat embarrassing for the onlookers.”

According to the source, this is not an unusual thing with Irrfan. Says another eyewitness, “At Neeraj Pathak’s birthday party held sometime back at another fivestar hotel, Irrfan Khan was seen cuddling and canoodling with another girl, this time an Indian. They attracted the attention of many of the guests at the party with their unusual PDA.”

While the photographer didn’t want to interrupt the two, he did capture the two together on their way out. When we asked Irrfan if the foreigner was a special friend of his, he shot back, “I was merely having a discussion with Jennifer Lynch, and there was nothing cozy between us.” Except the sofa, perhaps.

But even they must not have been prepared for Aishwarya Bachchan’s response when they conferred their prestigious Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres honour on the pretty Bollywood actress. Thank-you, but not now,” is what Ash is reported to have told the French government when its second highest civilian award was announced in her name. Incidentally, this honour has been conferred earlier on Hollywood actors Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. And, on Shah Rukh Khan as well. However, Ash was not turning down the French award. She was just putting it off until her ailing father, Krishna Raj Rai, was well enough to attend the award ceremony. “I wanted my entire family — and that includes my parents, brother, sisterin-law, my husband and his parents, sister and brother-in-law — to be there. My father has been unwell and I wanted him to be there at this important moment,” said Ash. “It will be a glorious moment. But not without my father!”

Now that Krishna is well enough, Ash has asked the French government to go ahead with the ceremony. It is likely to be held in Paris when the actress attends the world premiere of her film, Pink Panther 2. “My father will have to brave the long flight. There’s a long list of dos and don’ts for him. But worth it, don’t you think,”Ash said.
